Each of the 2017 Mental Health Matters Award winners had a video that were played as part of the Award ceremony at NSW Parliament House. The Clarence Youth Action won the coveted Community Champion Award which each year is given to a person or organisation in NSW that impresses the NSW Mental Health Commissioner.
The video was scripted before being filmed in Grafton in one day with just one person to film, direct and record the audio. Simple graphics were added to help tell their story. The video is a good example of cost effective content production.
The NSW Mental Health Commissioner’s Community Champion Award for 2017 was awarded to The Clarence Youth Action (CYA).
Clarence Youth Action (CYA) is an inclusive and diverse group who meet regularly to make decisions relating to young people, work on community projects, organise events and participate in forums. They provide a platform that encourages young people to be involved in a range of community initiatives. CYA benefits young people by giving them opportunities to develop leadership and decision-making skills, work collaboratively, cultivate creative ideas and undertake exciting projects.
